Improve Data Studio Performance with Sheet Director
Improve Data Studio Performance with Sheet Director
At times, reports in Data Studio may load slowly and take longer to display dashboard data due to factors such as:
The data source contains a large volume of records (for example, 1,000+ rows)
The connector API supports only small page sizes (for example, 100 records per request)
API rate limits restrict the number of requests allowed within a time period (for example, 50 requests per minute)
When these limitations occur, dashboard loading can become slow, affecting the overall reporting experience and productivity.
If the report is taking longer to load data from the data source, consider using Sheet Director to sync and store your application data in Google Sheets first, and then connect the sheet to Data Studio.
This approach helps improve dashboard performance, reduce API dependency, enable scheduled refreshes, and provide faster report loading for large datasets.
How it works?
Choose any application in Sheet Director for which you want to create a report. Use the Query Service to fetch the data and load it into Google Sheets for reporting and analysis.
In Google Sheets, go to Extensions → Data Studio → Create a Report to create a dashboard directly from your sheet data in Data Studio.
