What is Date Range Control?

The date range control is a calendar widget that lets you adjust the timeframe of a report without editing it. This gives you a way to let your viewers to select the dates they want to see.

How Date Range Control works?

The date range control lets you select the dates you want. And also gives you many default options to choose. Options are like Last Year, Last Month etc to select.

Default date range :

When you choose connector, in report some connectors shows data automatically and some shows no data. The connectors shows data automatically use default date range of 28 days. So it takes recent 28 days data. When you see connectors with no data, you need to use data range control to see data.

Setting Date Range in report :

We can set the timeframe to charts or reports in two ways:

To add a date  range control to report, among  many data sources attached to report, at least one source must have date dimension. Because the Date range controls only affect the chart built on data source that has date dimension.

How to use multiple Date Range Controls in a single report?

The two ways of controlling the date range in your reports are:


To setup date ranges in your reports, you'll do the following:

Auto : Gives the default as last 28 days (exclude today)

Custom: Select the date according your preferences such as Yesterday, Last 7 days (including today), Last quarter, Year to Date, and so on and click on APPLY.

For the entire report, in the menus, select File -> Report settings.

For a page, in the menus, select Page -> Current page settings.
